European Style Single Girder Bridge Crane with Electric Hoist
Structure
Traditional single-girder electric cranes typically use a combination of box girders and I-beams for the main beam, with the electric hoist trolley running along the lower flange of the I-beam. This configuration involves more complex manufacturing processes and can result in less stability for the hoist during operation. In contrast, Euro-style single-girder electric cranes feature a box-type structure for the main beam, providing a more streamlined design. The electric hoist trolley runs smoothly on the lower flange of the main beam, paired with European-style electric hoists that use flat-rimmed wheels for enhanced stability and durability.
Euro-style single girder cranes offer a lightweight design, compact structure, and energy-efficient operation. Compared to traditional cranes, they feature a smaller hook-to-wall distance, reduced headroom requirements, and greater lifting height, maximizing the usable workspace in existing facilities. Their lightweight construction and lower wheel pressure allow new facilities to be designed with smaller dimensions while maintaining full functionality. This results in significant cost savings for clients, not only in initial construction but also in long-term expenses such as heating, air conditioning, and maintenance.
DisadvantagesWhile the lightweight design and precision engineering of Euro-style single girder cranes offer numerous benefits, they also come with stricter environmental requirements compared to traditional lifting equipment. These cranes must not be operated beyond their rated capacity. Additionally, due to the use of low-power motors and brakes, the lifting capacity is limited, and dynamic loads must not exceed design specifications. This results in restrictions on the crane's operating speed and overall performance under heavy-duty conditions.
