Top Running Single Girder Bridge Crane

2 Ton 10 Ton Top Running Single Girder Bridge Crane with Wire Rope Electric Hoist

A Top Running Single Girder (TRSG) bridge crane is the most common type of overhead bridge crane. It is a versatile bridge crane that can be utilized for a wide variety of industries. TRSG cranes can be built with capacities up to 32 ton and spans up to 35 meters. Typically, TRSG crane capacities vary between 5 and 10 ton. With these capacities, the bridge beam is typically I-beam. Most cranes that exceed a capacity of 10 ton with a span greater than 18 meters will utilize a box girder bridge beam.

The hoist / trolley used on a TRSG crane is always an under hung style trolley which runs on the bottom flange of the bridge beam. For this reason, a TRSG crane is not the best crane option if facility headroom is a major issue. See Top Running Double Girder cranes if headroom is a key factor.

Top Running Single Girder bridge cranes use end trucks that operate on railroad rail or square bar that is attached to the top of the runway beam. The runway for a TRSG crane can either be building supported (if building is suitable) or by using a freestanding runway system. The runway beams generally span across a full building bay. One downside to any top running bridge crane is that the hoist/trolley is not able to travel beyond the runway, limiting the hook coverage area of the hoist/trolley. End of Travel Trolley Limit Switches
(2) limit switches will be mounted to the hoist trolley for slow down & stop for end stop approach on hoist trolley travel. Signal lights will be installed on the motorized bridge crane to indicate when the slow down & stop system is activated.

End of Runway Crane Slow Down and Stop
(2) photo sensors will be mounted to the bridge crane for slow down & stop for end of runway approach on bridge travel. Signal lights will be installed on the motorized bridge crane to indicate when the slow down & stop system is activated.

Crane to Crane Anti-Collision
Collision Avoidance System will be added to the motorized crane to detect obstructions or opposing cranes sharing the same runway. The sensor will only allow the motorized crane to approach the obstruction at a reduced speed when approximately 4.5m and will stop the motorized crane travel if within approximately 0.9m of the obstruction. The approach distance can be easily programmed in the field. Signal lights will be installed on the motorized crane control panel to indicate when the collision avoidance system is activated. Includes a bracket and reflector to be field mounted to the obstruction or opposing crane.

The running speeds of cranes and trolleys should preferably follow the values specified in the table. The slow speed is recommended to be 1/2 to 1/10 of the normal operating speed. Speed control options can be discussed and resolved with us. When ground operation is used, the running speed of the crane should not exceed 50 m/min.
Usage Requirements The power supply for the crane shall be single-phase or three-phase AC, with a rated frequency of 50 Hz or 60 Hz and a rated voltage of 220 V to 660 V.
Environmental Requirements The crane generally operates indoors, with an operating ambient temperature range of -20°C to 40°C, and relative humidity not exceeding 85% (at an ambient temperature of 25°C).

Trolley and Hoisting Mechanism

The trolley is a mobile platform that runs along the length of the main beams. It houses the hoisting mechanism, which is responsible for lifting and lowering loads. The hoisting mechanism includes a system of ropes, pulleys, and a motor-driven hoist drum that enables the lifting operation.
