Product Description

Product Description

Free Standing Jib Crane with Electric Hoist

Base mount jib cranes also go by the names of floor mount jib cranes or free standing jib cranes. These typically install onto a concrete footing, thus not applying a load to the building columns. These self supporting jib cranes are fitting for applications which are not near building columns or require large capacities or spans. These can also mount into a sleeve which is installed on top of the floor or recessed into the floor. Capacities are available up to 15 Tons, spans up to 15 meters, and up to 12 meters to the underside of boom. Rotation is 360 degrees.

Freestanding Jib Cranes provide higher capacities and longer spans than wall-mounted cranes. These foundation-mounted cranes install almost anywhere.

Options & Components

  • Electric collector rings or air swivel (allow continuous 360-degree boom rotation)
  • Box track festooning
  • Boom locks
  • Rotation stops
  • Motorized rotation
  • Taglines
  • Special control enclosures (to match your environment)
  • Specialty paint finishes or hot dip galvanizing available (as well as custom designs for outdoor applications)

Jib cranes can use either electric wire rope hoists or electric chain hoists as their lifting mechanism. Below is a comparison between wire rope hoists and chain hoists.
  • Application and Environment: The choice between chain hoists and wire rope hoists depends on what and where you'll be lifting. Chain hoists are suitable for lighter loads and versatile environments, while wire rope hoists handle heavy, continuous loads and harsh conditions.
  • Duty Rating and Capacity: Ensure the hoist's duty rating and capacity match your operational needs. Chain hoists are ideal for lighter, frequent lifting, whereas wire rope hoists are designed for heavier, less frequent loads.
  • Maintenance and Versatility: Chain hoists are easier to maintain and can replace manual lifting in various settings, whereas wire rope hoists offer precise positioning for long-duration lifts.
  • Budget Considerations: While chain hoists are generally more cost-effective and easier to install, wire rope hoists, though more expensive, are necessary for lifting heavier loads safely.
  • Expert Consultation: Working with manufacturers such as HEXIN cranes can help determine the best hoist for your needs, ensuring efficiency and safety in your operations.

Straightforward installation process and low-maintenance design minimize downtime and costs.

Making an Informed Purchase Decision

Before selecting a free-standing pillar jib crane, it's essential to evaluate your specific operational needs. Consider factors such as the weight and type of loads you plan to lift, the working radius required, and the available floor space. While these cranes excel at localized lifting tasks, it's important to confirm that their maximum capacity and outreach meet your facility's demands.

If your application requires higher lifting capacity or extended outreach, alternative lifting equipment like a gantry crane or a wall-mounted jib crane might be more appropriate.

At Shanghai Hexin, our team of experts is dedicated to helping you select the best lifting solution tailored to your needs. We offer comprehensive guidance, including customizations in height, arm length, and hoist configurations, to ensure your jib crane delivers optimal performance and value.

Product Structure

Understanding the Structure of a Free Standing Pillar Jib Crane

The free-standing pillar jib crane consists of three primary components: the sturdy pillar, the rotating jib arm, and the hoisting mechanism. The pillar is mounted securely to the floor, providing a stable foundation for the crane. The jib arm extends from the pillar and rotates 360° (or a specified angle), offering flexible lifting coverage within a defined area. The hoisting mechanism, typically an electric chain or wire rope hoist, is mounted on the jib arm and is responsible for lifting and lowering the load. This simple yet robust design allows for easy operation and is ideal for localized material handling tasks in confined spaces.

Of course, we also offer a customized service. To provide you with the most accurate and tailored design solution, please share the following details:

1.Lifting Capacity:
Please specify the maximum weight your crane needs to lift. This critical information enables us to design a system that can handle your loads safely and efficiently.

2.Span Length (Rail Center to Rail Center):
Provide the distance between the centers of the rails. This measurement directly impacts the overall structure and stability of the crane we'll design for you.

3.Lifting Height (Hook Center to Ground):
Indicate how high the hook needs to reach from the ground level. This helps determine the appropriate mast or girder height for your lifting operations.

4. Rail Installation:
Have you already installed the rails? If not, would you like us to supply them?Additionally, please specify the required rail length. This information helps us plan the complete setup for your crane system.

5. Power Supply:
Specify the voltage of your power source.Different voltage requirements affect the electrical components and wiring design of the crane.

6. Working Conditions:
Describe the types of materials you'll be lifting and the ambient temperature. These factors influence the choice of materials, coatings, and mechanical properties for the crane to ensure its durability and optimal performance.

7. Workshop Drawing/Photo:
If possible, sharing a drawing or photo of your workshop would be highly beneficial. This visual information helps our team better understand your space, layout, and any potential obstacles, allowing us to tailor the crane design more precisely to your site.
